About Us

Sea Turtle Getaways traces its origins back to Shoreline Rentals, and Charles and Ellen Taylor. The Taylors moved to the island in 1983 and founded Shoreline Rentals, and their three children followed them down and joined on. Thus, a family business was born! After 16 successful years in business, Shoreline was sold to Resortquest in 1999. One of the Taylor kids, Renee, decided to stay in the industry and start her own business. In 2004, Sea Turtle Getaways opened it's doors for the first time!

Since then, Sea Turtle has thrived - having now been in business longer than that of it's predecessor Shoreline! It has facilitated thousands of happy vacations while also providing a steady stream of donations to the South Carolina Aquarium's Sea Turtle Hospital! 

Renee now offers nearly 40 years of experience in the short term vacation rental market here on Hilton Head Island, and is a licensed South Carolina Real Estate Broker. In more recent times, Renee's son Dakota has come on board the Sea Turtle Getaways team, joining the family business as well! You can usually find both Renee and Dakota out around the island, checking properties personally!
